Family Walking On the Beach

THERAPEUTIC SPECIALTIES

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Everybody is different. Everybody has different reasons for seeking therapy. My style consists of attuning to the needs of individuals, and collaborating with them to create specific treatment plans that balance between self-acceptance and behavioral change. I build trust and therapeutic rapport creating a space where people feel safe and can work toward their goals.

FAMILY THERAPY

This therapy treats the family system as a whole. The behavioral patterns of each member in the family have a cause and effect. The family is impacted by each individual, and each individual is often behaving based on the family dynamic. Through new insights and improved communication patterns, the family can begin to support one another in making positive change.

PARENT SKILLS

Parenting can be a balancing act. I work with parents who are struggling to find the balance between being too permissive and too strict, when to step in for support, and when to let their kids experience natural   consequences. These sessions provide strategies for managing difficult parenting moments.

GROUPS/WORKSHOPS

Peer-to-peer interaction in groups and workshops can create a supportive, validating experience, and a powerful learning opportunity. My training includes leading DBT groups, CBT groups, grief and loss, and parent education workshops. The majority of the groups I facilitate combine process oriented work with a skills focused teaching component.

"We need to give each other the space to grow, to be ourselves, to exercise our diversity. We need to give each other space so that we may both give and receive such beautiful things as ideas, openness, dignity, joy, healing, and inclusion."
